well done ppl for today's freestyle drill competition.
now that we are selected for the grand finals, lets give it all!
but focus on the upcoming footdrill competition 1st!
your following weeks will be quite busy please inform ur parents if need be and seek for their cooperation =D thanks!

Ok, its not exactly the right time to post footdrill comp now that freestyle drill is the focus, but since time is pressing, this post is needed.

Here are some points that i would need u guys to take note of

1) FAMILIARISE yourself with the various commands ( especially marching drills) , you guys know what to do but always panics when the command is given which result in failure in execution. Please do summon that extra ounce of effort again to practice at home =)

Heres the list of commands for the marching drills (may be useful for self practice)

-Pandang ka kanan*/ ka kiri*/ ka hadapan* pandang ( timings are "check up, check over") (left leg)
-Hormat ka kanan* / kakiri* hormat (timings are "check up,2,3,4,5,down") (left leg)
-Hormat ka hadapan hormat (timings are " check one (bang), check up, check down, check up , check down, check turn check) (left leg)
- Ka kanan pusing (left leg)
- Ka kiri pusing (right leg)
- Tukar Langkah masa berjalan, tukar langkah
- Ka nan* / Ki ri* belok

Stationary(focus on the following)
Open dressing - dalam buka barisan ka kanan lurus
Close dressing - dalam tutup barisan ka kanan lurus

2) Don't ever stop saying the timing in your mind while drilling, failure in this will result in messy coordination, total dependence on the timer should not be the case. Repeating the timing in your mind keeps your mind fresh and ready for new commands as well =D

3) Always look out for the markers ( left or right depending on command) and those that are around you by TURNING YOUR EYEBALLS. Your 90 degree turn, for example, is there, but the lack of glancing right and left to maintain the straight rows results in very ugly drills. Your arm swings, straight files, all depends on this.

4) Learn to listen to the timer. This is especially important during marching, which is why point 2 had to work hand in hand with this. Get so use to it that when you hear the word "left" you would feel awkward when your right hand is not up.

5) Keep your attitude positive and cheerful. Believe me, your drills would be substandard if you hypnotised yourself before hand that drills are gonna be boring. Alright this is difficult to do, but the least your guys can try is to keep yourself away from that "boring" thinking. Its only till TUESDAY !

great job & well done to those three who got marksman for today's live range. (:
as for the one,who fail.
do not give up or feel sad about it.
i know that u've done your very best..
just continue to train & work hard.
i believe u will become a marksman one day.. =)

Hi landers , there will be a cadet officer forum on the 27 feb for the SM NCC to address any enquiries that any cadet officers may have regarding NCC. If you have any burning questions about NCC, you may like to email me or C/OFFR WEI JIE your question before 11 feb 09 so that it would be answered during the forum. We would try to send in as many questions as possible. The forum is for cadet officers only, so the questions can only be asked/answered through us =)
